Airbnb Sees Softness in Further-Out Bookings, Foreign Inbound Travel -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
02 May

0744 ET - Commentary from Airbnb management suggests consistent booking behavior broadly and stable lead times despite fears about the economy, though the U.S. market is showing softness in bookings that are more than one month out, as well as foreign inbound travel, Citizens analysts say in a research note. Consumers may start to look for more affordable travel options and opt for local or regional travel, which Airbnb should benefit from, so long as people generally keep traveling, the analysts say. They see Airbnb as a dominant player in the industry and well-positioned to navigate volatility going forward. Shares slide 5.4% to $117.32. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
