The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) of Australia ruled in favor of Alcoa (ASX:AAI) concerning disputed liabilities with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) over alumina prices, according to a Wednesday statement.
The ART said Alcoa owes no additional tax to the ATO concerning the transfer pricing of historic third-party alumina sales, per the statement.
The ATO has 28 days to appeal the decision. Alcoa will get a refund of $67 million by June and cash taxes of $216 million by June 1, 2026, if the tax regulator decides not to appeal.
