JetBlue Airways (JBLU) is facing a pushback from its pilot union on a plan to enter a domestic partnership with United Airlines (UAL), Reuters reported Thursday, citing a letter.
The pilot union head, Wayne Scales, told members the decision could "fundamentally reshape" the airlines and affect the future of its employees, according to the letter seen by Reuters.
JetBlue said in an email response to MT Newswires that the company had previously announced it is engaging with multiple airlines about a new partnership and is making good progress on its efforts. It expects to sign a partnership agreement in Q2.
United Airlines didn't immediately respond to a comment request from MT Newswires.
