0704 GMT - Ahold Delhaize delivered a strong 1Q result, driven by volume improvements in both U.S. and Europe as it continues to gain market share, Jefferies analysts say in a note. The Dutch grocer's 1Q EBIT was 3% ahead of expectations, and its confirmed EPS guidance for the year is assumed to be of $1.10, they say. Added to that, Ahold Delhaize's market-share winning performance is expected to have continued into Easter, with no major changes in U.S. consumer or inflationary behavior, they add.
