美联储在议息会议上决定维持联邦基金利率于4.25%至4.50%的目标区间不变，符合市场预期。中银香港投资管理总经理王兆宗表示，近期美联储官员言论均倾向观望美国出台政策对通胀的影响，静待市场有否出现转弱讯号，倘若劳动力市场明显转差或经济出现衰退风险，才会释出降息预期。
王兆宗指出，年内美国政策反复无常，加上美联储减息步伐未必符合市场预期，酝酿的悲观情绪或会导致所谓“预言的自我实现”(self-fulfilling prophecy)，令美国经济出现衰退情况，投资者应予以警惕。而近期资金流入香港，亦反映部分投资者分散风险的部署，在地缘政治及贸易政策持续不确定的背景下，相信港汇偏强的趋势会继续维持。(ha/u)
