Uber Technologies and autonomous driving company WeRide have expanded their partnership to 15 additional cities over the next five years.

The companies said Monday the partnership, which offers WeRide's Robotaxi services through the Uber app, will expand to several new cities each year, including those in Europe. All of the additional cities are outside of the U.S. and China.

Uber will be responsible for fleet operations, the companies said.

The expanded partnership follows a successful launch in Abu Dhabi and soon Dubai, and accelerates a shared goal of making autonomous mobility a reality around the world, the companies said.

Shares of WeRide rose 21%, to $8.31, in after-hours trading on Monday. Uber shares traded flat.
