格隆汇5月6日｜据英国《金融时报》引述全球最大钻石公司戴比尔斯CEO艾尔·库克(Al Cook)指出，美国本土并无需要保护的钻石开采工作岗位，故钻石关税对该国毫无好处，只会成为对美国消费者征收的消费税，公司已就关税事宜跟多国政府进行讨论。由于美国表明，在美国境外生产的自然资源并非征收关税目标，他相信白宫最终会取消对该国无益的钻石关税。世界钻石协会(WDC)亦警告，如美国不取消对钻石的关税，美国珠宝业每年1170亿美元的收入，以及20万个工作岗位均将面临风险。
