HSBC Holdings (HSBC) may face a shortfall of 7,700 desks at its planned London headquarters, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
"HSBC will be vacating 8 Canada Square and moving to our new headquarters in St Paul's in 2027," an HSBC spokesperson reportedly told Bloomberg.
The deficit exceeds earlier internal projections of under 5,000, the sources reportedly said, adding that the revised estimate is due to stricter office attendance policies and higher London staffing.
HSBC did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
