Tesla (TSLA, Financials) parted ways with its India country head, Prashanth Menon, Bloomberg reported Thursday. The move comes just as the company revives plans to enter India's growing EV market.
Menon, who also chaired Tesla India's board, spent nearly a decade at the company. His exit leaves Tesla's China team in charge of the India operations for now, with no replacement announced.
The timing coincides with Tesla's renewed push into India. The company recently signed a lease for its first showroom in Mumbai, restarting plans it paused last year.
India is the world's third-largest car market and a key growth target for Tesla. But entering the market won't be easy—regulations, pricing, and local competition remain big hurdles.
For now, the leadership change raises questions about how Tesla plans to manage this expansion.
