VRX Silica (ASX:VRX) is awaiting the Minister for Environment's decision on its Arrowsmith North silica sand project after the Office of the Appeals Convenor (OAC) completed its investigation into a lodged appeal by the company, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.
The OAC report has been submitted to the Minister, who will decide whether to approve the company's proposal to develop the project, based on the Environmental Protection Authority's (EPA) favorable assessment and the OAC's report, the filing said.
VRX Silica expects a decision in the coming weeks, the filing added.
Shares of the company rose 5% in recent Tuesday trade.
