Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG) said late Tuesday that it hired Jason Kidd as its chief operating officer, effective May 19.

Additionally, the company said President and Chief Strategy Officer Jack Hartung will step down on June 1 after almost 25 years with Chipotle. He will remain with the company as a senior advisor through early March 2026.

Kidd joins Chipotle from Taco Bell, where he was the global chief operating officer.

As part of Hartung's transition, the company plans to expand Curt Garner's, chief customer and technology officer, responsibilities to oversee the supply chain as the president, chief strategy and technology officer.

Shares of Chipotle were up 1% in premarket activity on Wednesday.
