Gallagher acquires Türkiye-based broker Aspera

May 6 - (The Insurer) Arthur J Gallagher announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Türkiye-based boutique insurance and reinsurance broker Aspera Sigorta ve Reasürans Brokerliği A.Ş. (Aspera).

Terms of the transaction has not been disclosed.

Aspera will become a part of Gallagher’s operations in the country, headquartered in Istanbul. The acquired company has six employees and is led by Evrim Ozkoc, who will remain in the company and report to Gündüz Tezel, Gallagher CEO in Türkiye.

Aspera was established in 2022 and specialises in industrial property, power and energy, and construction. In a press note, Gallagher added that Aspera has had rapid client growth in its sector and is expected to grow further.

The acquisition indicates a further investment by Gallagher in Türkiye, as the country is increasingly becoming a strategic insurance hub between Asia and Europe, the company said in the press note. The company entered the Türkiye market with the acquisition of Brokers House in 2021.

Recent acquisitions by Gallagher also include deals for St Louis, Missouri-based Imbs Holdings, and Philippines-based Philpacific Insurance Brokers & Managers.
