Berkshire Hathaway Board Votes For Greg Abel as CEO; Buffett to Remain as Chair

Berkshire Hathaway's board of directors has voted for Greg Abel to step in as chief executive on Jan. 1, 2026.

Abel is currently Berkshire's vice chairman of non-insurance operations.

Chief Executive Warren Buffett plans to remain as chairman of the board.
