Nine Entertainment Co. Holdings (ASX:NEC) reported an 8% year-on-year increase in Total TV advertising revenue for the March quarter, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.
However, the company said despite a brief uptick in advertising spending, broader economic and market uncertainties continues to impact the advertising outlook for the remainder of the financial year, the filing said.
Nine's radio division experienced weaker-than-expected performance, with third quarter broadcast advertising revenues declining in the low double digits.
In the publishing segment, Nine now expects second-half earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization to be broadly in line with the first half, the filing added.
The company also said it expects net proceeds after tax of about AU$1.4 billion once it completes its sale of 60% stake in Domain to CoStar, resulting in incremental franking credits of about AU$270 million.
