0809 GMT - Bitcoin rises on improved risk appetite after news China and the U.S. will meet later this week for the first time to discuss the trade war. The upcoming trade negotiations has boosted optimism that tensions between the world's two largest economies might ease, Tickmill Group's Patrick Munnelly says in a note. While this has provided a temporary lift to markets ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy decision at 1800 GMT, any sustained rally will depend on the outcome of the U.S.-China talks, he says. The Fed is expected to leave interest rates unchanged and reiterate its "wait and see" stance. Bitcoin rises 2.3% to $96,888, according to LSEG. (renae.dyer@wsj.com)
