Reports in The Australian this morning suggests the government is considering scrapping the luxury car tax as part of a renewed free trade negotiation with the European Union.
The luxury car tax is currently 33 per cent for petrol and diesel-driven cars worth more than $80,567.
For fuel-efficient vehicles it kicks in over $91,387.
