智通财经APP获悉，赛富时(CRM.US)日前在沙特阿拉伯启动团队组建工作，这是该公司为期五年、总额达5亿美元投资计划的关键一步，旨在加速人工智能(AI)技术在沙特的推广应用。
据赛富时中东地区高级副总裁Mohammed Alkhotani透露，作为投资的一部分，这家美国软件公司将在利雅得设立区域总部，并计划于年底前招募约40名员工。
此项投资将重点用于本土人才招聘、专业培训计划及其他区域发展战略。赛富时最近已任命前SAP(SAP.US)高管Ibrahim Alseghayr出任沙特地区副总裁兼董事总经理。
这一战略举措与沙特政府提出的千亿美元级AI发展战略高度契合，该战略包含对数据中心和云基础设施的大规模投资。
