0809 GMT - Yields on U.K. 2-year government bonds edge higher ahead of a Bank of England interest rate decision at 1102 GMT, where a 25 basis points interest rate cut is widely expected and focus will center on any signals on when rates could fall again. Investors also anticipate that a possible trade deal between the U.S. and the U.K. could be announced later after President Donald Trump flagged that a major trade deal would be forthcoming. This could help ease concerns about the economic impact of tariffs on the U.K. economy. Two-year gilt yields rise 1 basis point to 3.806%, Tradeweb data show. Ten-year gilt yields are little changed at 4.448%. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
