据《澳门日报》报道，美高梅国际酒店集团全球发展总裁鲍尔斯昨在G2E亚洲博彩巿场论坛表示，泰国是很强的竞争对手，未来或会成为亚洲最受博企欢迎的地方，有每年赌收超过100亿美元的潜力，具很强的发展吸引力。
鲍尔斯表示，现时澳门博彩业由最初的贵宾厅占主，发展到朝非博彩元素进发，集中文化、餐饮、教育、环境等，均带来正面影响。
他提到美高梅在日本大阪即将发展的酒店项目，六万八千多平方米的空间，会有酒店、餐饮和博彩元素。直言看好当地的地理、交通优势。虽然过程中遇到建造成本攀升，以及复杂监管等，但只要营商环境配合，仍有很大发展潜力。(wl/a)
