智通财经APP获悉，美联储在议息会议上决定维持联邦基金利率于4.25%至4.5%的目标区间不变，符合市场预期。中银香港(02388)投资管理总经理王兆宗表示，近期美联储官员言论均倾向观望美国出台政策对通胀的影响，静待市场有否出现转弱讯号，倘若劳动力市场明显转差或经济出现衰退风险，才会释出降息预期。王兆宗还提到投资者应警惕美国经济出现衰退情况。
王兆宗指出，虽然最新的美国非农及失业率数据均显示整体经济仍存在韧性，但相关数据有一定滞后。相比之下，4月ISM制造业指数显示制造业活动仍然萎缩，消费者信心指数亦持续转弱，贸易政策的不确定性已开始影响企业产能及民众消费预期。
王兆宗表示，年内美国政策反复无常，加上美联储减息步伐未必符合市场预期，酝酿的悲观情绪或会导致所谓“预言的自我实现”(self-fulfilling prophecy)，令美国经济出现衰退情况，投资者应予以警惕。
而近期资金流入香港，亦反映部分投资者分散风险的部署，在地缘政治及贸易政策持续不确定的背景下，相信港汇偏强的趋势会继续维持。
