路透北京5月9日 - 三位熟悉内情的消息人士告诉路透，Nvidia NVDA.O计划在未来两个月内面向中国发布其H20人工智能芯片的降级版本，以因应美国的出口限制。
其中两位消息人士说，Nvidia已通知中国主要客户，包括领先的云计算提供商，目标是在7月发布修改版H20芯片。这是Nvidia为维持其中国市场地位所做的最新尝试。
H20 曾是 Nvidia 获准在中国销售的最强大人工智能芯片，但在美国官员上月通知该公司该产品需要出口许可证后，等于封杀H20进入中国市场之门。
Nvidia 已经制定了新的技术门槛，用于指导开发修改版芯片设计。其中一位消息人士说，这些技术指标将导致原有 H20 的大幅降级，包括内存容量的大幅降低。
另一位消息人士说，下游客户有可能修改模块配置，以调整芯片的性能水平。
Nvidia拒绝发表评论。美国商务部没有立即回应置评请求。
在截至1月26日的财年中，中国市场的收入为170亿美元，占Nvidia总销售额的13%。
就在美国官员宣布新的H20芯片出口许可要求几天后，Nvidia首席执行官黄仁勋上个月访问了北京，强调了中国的战略重要性。(完)
