Fortrea Holdings' chairman and chief executive, Thomas Pike, is leaving contract research organization.

Fortrea on Monday said Pike, who has been at the helm of the Durham, N.C., company since its 2023 spinoff from Labcorp, is stepping down and has agreed to serve as a consultant through the executive transition, adding that a search for a successor is already at an advanced stage.

Fortrea said its lead independent director, Peter Neupert, will serve as interim chairman and CEO. Neupert, 69 years old, joined the board in connection with the spinoff from Labcorp.
