Contact Energy's Mass Market Electricity Sales Drop in April

Contact Energy's (ASX:CEN, NZE:CEN) mass market electricity sales declined in April compared with the year-earlier period, while wholesale spot electricity sales rose, according to a Monday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.

Retail mass market electricity sales fell to 247 gigawatt hours (GWh) in April from 264 GWh in the same period in 2024. Retail gas sales dropped to 37 GWh from 45 GWh.

Wholesale electricity sales to businesses decreased to 260 GWh from 283 GWh. Conversely, wholesale spot electricity sales grew to 696 GWh from 667 GWh.
