Vertical Aerospace Developing Long-Range Variant of VX4 Aircraft

Vertical Aerospace (EVTL) said Monday it is developing a hybrid-electric vertical-take-off-and landing version of its VX4 aircraft to extend its range and payload capacity.

The new variant, featuring a range of up to 1,000 miles and payload capacity of 1,100 kilograms, builds on the company's electric VX4 platform, the aerospace company said, adding that flight testing is expected to begin in Q2 of 2026.

Shares of Vertical Aerospace were up more than 3% in early Monday trading.
