SelectQuote Refutes Justice Department's Kickback Scheme Allegations

SelectQuote said it strongly disagrees with the Justice Department's allegations that it and other health-insurance brokers were paid illegal kickbacks by major insurers.

The complaint from May 1 claims Aetna, Elevance Health and Humana paid illegal kickbacks to eHealth, GoHealth and SelectQuote in exchange for enrollments in the insurers' Medicare Advantage plans.

SelectQuote, a leading distributor of Medicare policies, said Friday that it has been cooperating with the agency's inquiries since 2022. The allegations, according to the company, are incorrect and lack a clear understanding of the overall Medicare Advantage industry, as well as SelectQuote's business model.

"SelectQuote will defend itself against the allegations in the DoJ's complaint, and we are confident that once the facts are presented, there will be a positive resolution to this matter," the company said.
