General Motors has appointed Sterling Anderson as executive vice president, global product, and chief product officer. Anderson, a co-founder of autonomous trucking company Aurora, will oversee the product lifecycle for gas- and electric-powered vehicles, including hardware, software, services, and user experience. He will report to GM President Mark Reuss and will be based at GM's Mountain View Tech Center in California, starting June 2. Anderson previously worked at Tesla, leading the Model X program and the development of Tesla Autopilot.
