【美联储理事沃勒：美联储的独立结构已经证明了它的价值】金色财经报道，美联储理事沃勒表示，美联储理事会的结构“经受住了时间的考验”，应予以保留。该结构的成员不能因政策争议而被解雇，而且与总统任期错开。沃勒援引他自己和其他人早些时候的研究说，美联储的制度允许每一位任期为四年的美国总统任命七人组成的理事会的一些成员，从而实现选举问责制，而最长可达14年的任期则让美联储做出客观、非党派的决策。沃勒表示：“这种结构就是美联储目前所采用的结构。”“我认为它经受住了时间的考验，我希望它在未来几年继续存在。”
