Health care stocks were rising premarket Wednesday, with The Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV) and iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) up 0.5%
Novo Nordisk (NVO) and Septerna (SEPN) said they will collaborate on a project to develop and commercialize oral small molecule medicines for obesity, type 2 diabetes and other cardiometabolic diseases. Shares of Septerna were up past 68% while Novo Nordisk stock was over 2% higher pre-bell.
GSK (GSK) has agreed to acquire Boston Pharmaceuticals' investigational steatotic liver disease treatment efimosfermin alfa for up to $2 billion in cash, the companies said. GSK shares were up over 1% premarket.
Scholar Rock (SRRK) shares were up 0.9% even after the company reported a wider Q1 net loss.
