智通财经APP获悉，据报道，西班牙毕尔巴鄂银行(BBVA.US)在完成收购并整合规模较小的竞争对手Sabadell后，可能裁员至多2500人。根据初步计算，这在该行约4.2万名西班牙员工的占比略低于6%。
去年4月，西班牙毕尔巴鄂银行出价120亿欧元(约合134亿美元)收购Sabadell全部股份，合并后的公司将成为西班牙最大的银行。该计划遭到了西班牙政府的反对，但在去年9月获得了欧洲央行的批准。
西班牙竞争监管机构在上月批准了拟议的带有补救措施的交易，而西班牙政府上周就此事展开了一场不具约束力的公众咨询。
报道指出，裁员计划的数量可能会改变，取决于西班牙毕尔巴鄂银行是否获准合并两家银行，以及政府可能施加的条件。根据西班牙法律，政府不能阻止收购，但对是否进行合并有最终决定权。如果西班牙政府阻止全面合并，西班牙毕尔巴鄂银行可能会在随后的阶段整合Sabadell，同时将Sabadell作为一个独立的部门。但与此同时，外界也在质疑，如果西班牙毕尔巴鄂银行仅获得Sabadell的大部分股份而非全面合并，其是否仍能实现预期的协同效应。
