Sony Fiscal Q4 Net Income Increases, Sales Decrease; Fiscal 2025 Outlook Issued;

Sony (SONY) reported fiscal Q4 net income Wednesday of 32.63 Japanese yen ($0.22) per diluted share, up from 30.72 yen a year earlier.

Analysts polled by FactSet expected 25.40 yen.

Sales for the quarter ended March 31 was 2.630 trillion yen, down from 3.481 trillion yen a year earlier.

Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 3.031 trillion yen.

For fiscal 2025, the entertainment, media, and technology company expects sales of 11.700 trillion yen.

Analysts polled by FactSet expect 13.349 trillion.

The company said it expects tariffs to reduce fiscal 2025 operating income by 100 billion yen.

The company also announced a new 50 billion yen share repurchase program to end May 2025.

Shares of the company were up more than 5% in recent premarket activity.
