TotalEnergies said it agreed to sell 50% of its fully-owned Polska Grupa Biogazowa in a deal valued at 190 million euros ($212.5 million), including debt, to Norwegian investment company HitecVision.

The French oil-and-gas company said Wednesday that the sale will enable the Polish biogas producer to continue its growth as it currently has two plants under construction and aims to diversify into biomethane production.

"Biogas and biomethane is a core focus for HitecVision's new energy program," it added.

PGB currently has 20 units in operation and a production capacity of more than 450 gigawatt-hours of equivalent biomethane, it said.

The company was fully acquired in 2023 by TotalEnergies.
