Meta已就其当前在法庭上抗辩的反垄断案件提交了一项判决动议。该动议称，美国联邦贸易委员会（FTC）未能提供任何证据证明Meta通过收购Instagram和WhatsApp非法垄断了部分社交网络市场——而政府方指控的核心正是这一点。

　　此前不久，FTC在哥伦比亚特区地方法院法官James Boasberg主持的漫长庭审中完成举证。

　　Meta发言人Christopher Sgro表示：“经过五周的庭审，显然FTC未能达到反垄断法要求的法律标准。FTC耗费数千万纳税人资金提出这起理由薄弱的诉讼，其市场定义完全无视现实。”

　　正如Meta的律师在交叉质证中所做的那样，该公司瞄准FTC对Meta垄断“个人社交网络服务”市场（即人们用于与家人朋友分享信息的服务）的描述发起质疑。Meta辩称，FTC未能证明其降低了服务质量（缺乏竞争的关键标志），也未能证明其收购Instagram是为了消除潜在竞争对手。

　　FTC通过传唤Meta业务中的多位关键人物作证来支持其指控，包括Instagram联合创始人凯文·斯特罗姆（Kevin Systrom），他曾对Meta处理其公司的方式提出抱怨；以及现任负责人亚当·莫塞里（Adam Mosseri）——后者则给出了更积极的评价。
