West African Resources Starts Mining, Crushing Operations at African Project

West African Resources (ASX:WAF) started mining and crushing operations at its Kiaka gold project in Burkina Faso, with first gold on track for the third quarter of the year, according to a Tuesday filing with the Australian bourse.

The crushing circuit is operational, wet plant commissioning is progressing, and all major equipment are on site, the filing said.

Mining volumes at the project have surpassed 18,000 bank cubic metres per day. the filing added.
