美国参议院财政委员会周二安排于5月20日就前众议员比利・朗（Billy Long）被提名领导美国国税局（IRS）一事举行听证会。

　　由于埃隆・马斯克领导的“政府效率部”（DOGE）实施的大规模裁员和其他成本削减措施，自今年年初以来美国国税局已经先后有不少于五任代理局长。而且，国税局高级官员还就政府效率部获取敏感纳税人信息一事与特朗普政府发生了冲突。

　　据报道，朗被视为一个有争议的人选，此次听证会势必受到由参议员罗恩・怀登（Ron Wyden）领导的委员会民主党人的严格审查。

　　共和党人朗于2023年离开国会后，曾在一家税务咨询公司工作，还曾大力推销一种名为“雇员留任抵免”的疫情期间税收抵免政策。在过去几年里，美国国税局收到了大量关于“雇员留任抵免”的欺诈性申请，并且经常警告纳税人要警惕该抵免政策的推销者。

　　今年1月，朗还筹集了约13.7万美元的竞选捐款，部分捐款来自与税务咨询行业公司有关的捐赠者。随后，朗用这些资金偿还了他向自己现已结束的2022年参议院竞选活动提供的一笔13万美元的未偿贷款。
