Sector Update: Energy Stocks Fall Premarket Wednesday

Energy stocks were falling premarket Wednesday, with The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) down 0.4%.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was down 0.7% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2.5% lower.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was down 0.9% at $63.09 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil lost 0.9% to reach $66.06 per barrel, and natural gas futures were 3.4% lower at $3.53 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

TotalEnergies (TTE) said it signed a deal under which a Norwegian investment company, HitecVision, has agreed to purchase 50% of Polska Grupa Biogazowa for an enterprise value of 190 million euros ($211.7 million). Shares of TotalEnergies were down more than 1% premarket.

Woodside Energy Group (WDS) shares were over 1% higher after the company said it signed a nonbinding collaboration deal with Saudi Arabia's Aramco to explore global opportunities.
