0501 GMT - XPeng is poised to continue improving its margins and economies of scale, HSBC Global Research analysts write in a note. They say that new model releases and upgrades could help sustain the strong sales momentum, while better scale and margins should help the automaker approach break-even. Although the industry's price war remains a risk, XPeng is differentiating itself from competitors through the development of autonomous-driving technology, the analysts add. HSBC Global Research maintains its earnings forecast for 2025 but raises the projection for 2026 by 25%, citing a higher margin outlook. It increases the target price to $27.40 from $25.90 while keeping a buy rating on XPeng's ADRs, which last closed at $21.12. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
