XPeng (HKG:9868) rolled out an upgrade to its P7 flagship sedan equipped with an in-house artificial intelligence chip, the South China Morning Post reported, citing Chief Executive Officer He Xiaopeng.
The improvement to the P7 is XPeng's response to the AI era, the SCMP quoted He as saying.
The vehicle is expected to start sales in China in July or August, the report said, citing XPeng.
XPeng's improvement to its P7 is seen to steer drivers away from the Tesla Model 3 and Xiaomi's (HKG:1810) SU7, according to the SCMP.
Shares in XPeng slipped over 2% during afternoon trading on Friday.
