1128 ET - Walmart is being upfront about the need to raise prices to offset incoming tariff costs and seems completely aligned with U.S. consumers on not wanting to see the global tariff war lead to further inflation, Roth analyst Bill Kirk says. "Walmart is working hard on [consumers'] behalf to limit the impact as much as possible," Kirk says. Walmart's leaders say on a call with analysts that they are trying to fight food inflation as much as possible, knowing that customers are sick of rising grocery bills. Management is also working to limit jumps in merchandise prices with strategic inventory buying and manufacturing shifts. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
