Japan plans to expand its skilled worker visa program, enabling firms in warehouse management, waste disposal, and linen supply to hire foreign workers starting in 2027, according to Nikkei Asia Review.
The government is set to announce the plan soon and aims to gain cabinet approval by December, the report said.
Launched in 2019, the "specified skilled worker" visa program addresses labor shortages in key sectors like nursing care, hospitality, and construction, according to the report.
