据报道，苏格兰铁路公司（ScotRail）将首次使用埃隆·马斯克的“星链”（Starlink）卫星互联网技术在火车上为乘客提供wi-fi服务，进行为期六个月的试运行。

　　苏格兰北部的六列列车已经安装了连接“星链”的设备。这些列车在因弗内斯（Inverness）到威克（Wick，）、瑟索（Thurso）、洛查尔什的凯尔（Kyle of Lochalsh）和阿伯丁（Aberdeen）的线路上运行。

　　苏格兰铁路公司表示，这些新系统是英国的第一个，如果成功，可能会推广到苏格兰南部的服务。

　　这次试验也可能导致该技术在苏格兰铁路公司其他158列列车上推广。这将覆盖几条乡村线路，包括西高地（West Highlands）、斯特拉尔（Stranraer）、邓弗里斯（Dumfries）和Borders。

　　苏格兰铁路公司表示，在购买新列车时，这也将有助于影响该技术的采纳。

　　这家国有铁路运营商与Clarus Networks合作，后者在英国出售马斯克的Starlink卫星使用权。

　　苏格兰商业大臣理查德·洛克黑德表示，可靠的互联网连接将使乘客的旅程更加愉快。

　　苏格兰铁路公司战略和规划总监斯科特·普伦蒂斯补充说：“该项目解决了我们在该地区火车连接方面长期面临的挑战，我们希望它能在苏格兰其他农村线路上推广这项技术。”
