CFTC Commissioner Mersinger to Step Down at the End of May and Join Blockchain Association as CEO

BlockBeats News, May 14th, according to The Block report, Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Summer Mersinger will step down to serve as the CEO of the Blockchain Association, the leading cryptocurrency industry lobbying group in Washington.

The Blockchain Association announced on Wednesday that Summer Mersinger will take office as CEO on June 2nd, with May 30th being her last day at the CFTC.

It is reported that Summer Mersinger, nominated by former President Biden, served as a Republican Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and was sworn in in March 2022. During her tenure at the CFTC, Summer Mersinger has encouraged the CFTC and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to collaborate in 2023 to jointly build a digital asset regulatory framework.
