Eni Could Exceed Divestment Target After Plentitude Stake Sale -- Market Talk

May 15, 2025

0909 GMT - Eni's plan to sell a 20% stake in Plentitude is consistent with its strategic plan and could allow the company to far exceed its 2025 divestment target, Jefferies analysts Giacomo Romeo and Kai Ye Loh write. If the sale to Ares Management is finalized, Eni could exceed its 2 billion euros to 2.5 billion euros divestment target and help reduce its net-debt-to-equity ratio to around 16% by the end of the year, they write. This would be down from 22% in the fourth quarter of 2024 and 18% in the first quarter of 2025, they add. Shares trade down 0.8% at 13.33 euros. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
