0821 GMT - Standard Chartered's corporate and investment bank is in a good position within its geographical network, J.P. Morgan Cazenove says. The CIB has a strong leadership team that has refocused the unit on returns, operating leverage and risk-weighed asset optimization, JPM Cazenove says in a research note after attending a webinar with its management. "We came away constructive on growth opportunities including deeper wallet penetration with material income multipliers as clients utilize more products/markets, and targeted focus on network and financial institutional income," analysts write. The targets outlined for the unit broadly align with expectations. StanChart is well-placed as supply chains adjust, though its shares are exposed to volatility until tariff uncertainty clears, they add. Shares in London have risen 16% since the start of the year.
