Wayfair (W) said Thursday it plans to open a large-format store in Yonkers, New York, in early 2027.
The company said the new 114,000-square-foot site will be part of Ridge Hill, a retail center in Westchester County.
The store is part of its strategy to expand its brick-and-mortar footprint after what Wayfair described as a strong first year at its Wilmette, Illinois, store.
Wayfair said more than half of the purchasing customers at its Wilmette location in the past year were new to the brand. Sales in Illinois outpaced the national average by 15%, with growth in both low- and high-ticket categories, according to the company.
