Ericsson (ERIC) said Thursday it plans to invest in research and development in Japan to ramp up its commitment to the country's connectivity ecosystem.

The move will initially see up to 300 "high-skilled next-generation" telecoms jobs created in Japan, the company said.

Ericsson said it is also collaborating on 6G research with the Yokohama National University and the University of Electro-Communications.
