Leeuwin Metals (ASX:LM1) discovered gold mineralization from its maiden 2,000-meter reverse core drilling program at Marda Central, part of its Marda Gold Project in Western Australia, according to a Tiesdya Australian bourse filing.

The results include 16 meters at 2 grams per tonne grade gold from 134 meters at 3.04 g/t from 215 meters.

The results extend the known mineralisation below the existing open pit and show continuity at depth.

The company's shares were down 17% in recent Wednesday trade.
