Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) recently held a conference call to discuss the financial results of the GPW Group for Q1 2025. The event was attended by WSE CEO Tomasz Bardziłowski, CFO Marcin Rulnicki, and CEO of Commodity Exchange, Piotr Listwoń, along with Michał Kuzawiński, Director of Strategy and Investor Relations. During the call, Tomasz Bardziłowski revealed that the first quarter of 2025 was a record-breaking period for the group, with revenues reaching 132.3 million zlotys, marking an increase of nearly 12% compared to the previous year. The growth was driven by the strong performance of both the financial market segment, with a 15% year-on-year increase, and the commodity segment, which grew by 9%. Bardziłowski noted, "The cash equity turnover went up by 35% year-on-year in the first quarter and was supported by record high performance of our main indices, which went up by over 20% year-to-date." Piotr Listwoń also addressed the remarkable activity in the gas spot market, attributing it to Poland's growing energy mix and the increasing role of gas. He mentioned, "The gas market is growing in Poland... we expect that the market turnover should be." The outlook for the remainder of the year remains positive, with continued high activity expected in financial markets and cash equities. "In April, due to increased volatility, our turnover on our main market increased by almost 38%," Bardziłowski stated. The full transcript can be accessed through the link below.
