Home Depot's Positive Comp Sales Trend Expected to Continue -- Market Talk

0809 ET - Home Depot issued a solid 1Q despite multiple headwinds, Truist Securities says in a research note. The home improvement retailer faced a weather-impacted February, constantly changing rhetoric out of D.C. and stubbornly high mortgage rates, the analysts say. They note that comp sales in the US were very slightly positive at 0.2% growth. "As minor as the increase was, this is the company's second straight quarter of positive comps and we would expect further improvements during CY25," say the analysts. Shares tick up 2% to $387.05 premarket. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
