美联储系统即将迎来近十年来最大规模的人力结构调整。彭博社披露的备忘录显示，美联储主席杰罗姆·鲍威尔于当地时间周五通过内部备忘录宣布，计划在未来几年内将全系统人力规模缩减约10%，主要通过自然减员方式实现，总减员人数预计接近2500人。
根据备忘录披露的实施方案，美联储将向总部位于华盛顿的理事会中符合2027年12月31日前退休条件的员工，提供延后生效的自愿离职计划。鲍威尔强调，此次调整将效仿1997年美联储的类似做法，重点通过职能整合、流程现代化等手段提升运营效率。
“我已指示美联储领导层，包括理事会和全系统，在符合条件的情况下寻找逐步整合职能的方式，推进部分业务流程现代化，并确保我们的机构规模适度且能够有效履行法定职责，。”鲍威尔在备忘录中表示，未来数年整体人员规模将较现有水平缩减约十分之一。
美联储2023年报显示，全系统有23950名职员，而2024年预算计划将人员扩充至24553人。若按10%比例裁减，最终人员规模将回落至接近十年前水平。
此前，美联储总部大楼斥资翻新引发争议。特斯拉CEO马斯克近日公开质疑该工程存在浪费，并称政府效率部团队应考虑介入调查。（国际财闻汇）
