The Philadelphia Semiconductor index shed 0.3%.
In corporate news, CoreWeave (CRWV) shares jumped 22%, a day after Nvidia (NVDA) reported a 7% stake in the company. Nvidia shares added 0.2%.
Alphabet's (GOOG) Google One subscription service recently topped 150 million paid members, Reuters reported, citing a company executive. Alphabet shares added 1.2%.
Globant (GLOB) shares tumbled 23%. The company reported lower Q1 adjusted earnings and cut its 2025 financial guidance late Thursday.
Applied Materials (AMAT) shares fell more than 5% after the company late Thursday reported fiscal Q2 revenue that trailed Wall Street estimates.
Take-Two Interactive Software (TTWO) shares fell 2.3%. The video game publisher issued a full-year bookings outlook below market estimates, while its fiscal Q4 loss unexpectedly widened.
